my great grandfather’s sister (Sarah Rosenstein) married a Chaim Tzvi Herson. I don’t know whether they are connected to your family or not. Please advise. Regards Derek

Are you able to add anything more regarding Sarah Rosenstein – eg any bmd dates or associated places? Chaim Tzvi is certainly a good of pair of names from our Herson family’s point of view – eg my own father (born 1911) was named Chaim ben Tzvi (in Hebrew!) Of course, there are many other Herson families to which we have been unable to make a connection (especially in the USA and South Africa.) The Anglised name Herson seems to have evolved in our family during the 1880s. However, I have no record of a Sarah Rosenstein (possibly just Rose?) but then there are hidden events in all families and I have only limited records of Hebrew names as only their English names are recorded in British civil documents.
